[Genya scoffs hard enough to make his throat ache. Immediately he regrets it — Senjuro is only trying to help. Pushing others away wasn't going to make up for what happened either. Still, it beggars belief to think that Senjuro might say something like that, while seated next to a killer.

Dimly, Genya considers shifting away.]

[He curls his hands into fists, then releases them. The motion repeats a handful of times.]

[the motion of genya's hands isn't lost on senjuro, nor is his reaction to his own words. he forces his hands apart and slides one part of the way toward genya, not invading his space exactly, but remaining there as something of an offering. if genya wants comfort, it's ready and available.]

What happened? [there's no judgment in his voice, but concern. maybe for others as well as genya, but genya is the one beside him right now, so the one he tries to focus on.]

[that's... really all he has to say, regarding akaza. that demon is more perplexing to senjuro than probably anyone else here in the grove, though given how submissive he appears to be with kyojuro, senjuro can't fathom ever being at risk, himself. especially if the demon apparently desired to be killed by a slayer... very strange.

neither puck nor senjuro recoil from genya's words, vague as they are. puck's stuffed head flops to one side like a puppy's, and senjuro's hand gives genya's the tiniest squeeze.]

How does "taking things" give you... um, "cool hands"...?

[... there's something to be said, probably, about the fact that genya is telling him all of this, while maintaining the contact that senjuro offered. it may be desperation on genya's part just as easily as it could be trust in senjuro, but either way, the younger very much wants to avoid taking it for granted.

it's... unsettling at best, what genya describes. the implications are admittedly horrifying. but for as much as senjuro scrutinizes genya's face, in the here and now, he still fails to see an active threat.]

More... ah... parts? [demon, or human, he doesn't specify. he's sure genya can and will do as much if he desires.]

[That draws a snort out of Genya, unamused though it truly is. He gives a nod all the same.]

Yeah. Pretty much. Only there were no more parts of Akaza left, so... [He motions vaguely.]
